Cold Comfort Farm

Based on the book by Stella Gibbons

Adapted for the stage by Paul Doust

12th - 15th July 2006 (7.30pm) at The Courtyard, Hereford

The performance on Friday, 14th July was audio described.

In a sparkling adaptation of Stella Gibbons's comic 1930s novel, a large array of colourful characters awaits young orphan Flora Poste when she arrives at Cold Comfort Farm to stay with her relatives, the Starkadders.

There is handsome lecherous Seth, plain lecherous Urk, drama queen Judith, religious fanatic Amos (leader of the Quivering Brethren) and a host of others. Over them all looms Aunt Ada Doom, who once saw something nasty in the woodshed and won't let anyone forget it.

Chaos and darkness reign, but Flora has other ideas....

All is sweetness and light... probably.

Tickets

Weds 12th: All tickets £10 (Friends of The Courtyard - 10% discount, no other concessions)

Thurs13th - Sat 15th: £12, concessions £10.

The large cast includes both talented newcomers and actors familiar to local audiences. There are plots, confrontations, a transformation scene and a wedding, with a supporting cast of Quivering Brethren and a rather strange ‘Chorus’. We're not saying any more - you'll just have to come and see it!
